by any means necessary is an acting study, and is written as a scene from a larger piece. I wrote this to challenge myself as a director and familiarize myself with the craft of acting. instead of casting close-by friends, i reached out to aspiring actresses in the bay area. while alia (lori) was local, edelfa (val) traveled a few hours for the short. after plenty of zoom rehearsals, we shot the film in one foggy day with a crew of two. it was an incredible experience to work with such passionate actresses on this unique project.
